Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
Maybe you have been told “your brain just works different”, or told to “calm down”. While it can feel like those statements are true it doesn’t mean YOU are wrong. Your brain may hyper-focus, get distracted, need structure, and maybe a little kindness at times.
At Empowering Hope, we understand that ADHD is more than just brains reacting to stress, anxiety, or triggers differently. It means support you as a human, not a diagnosis.
Our approach to anxiety therapy is rooted in compassionate, person-centered care. We believe that you are more than your symptoms, and that meaningful change begins by understanding your unique experiences, values, and strengths.
While working with ADHD symptoms, one of our therapists will work collaboratively with you to help you recognize, and build upon, the resilience and abilities you already possess.
One of Emily's main focus as a therapist is supporting the neurodivergent community, ADHD included. She has lived experience, meaning she truly understands your day to day struggles, and has taken the steps through school to support others. She has completed ABA training, and spent 10+ years in that field before switching over to therapy. She takes these skills from ABA and blends them with a person centered, DBT approach to support you in building emotional regulation, boundaries, and finding a way of life that works best for you.
Autism
Autism can feel, and be, a medical diagnosis, but that doesn’t mean you have to be treated as a medical case.
At Empowering Hope, we understand that Autism is part of who you are, but it is not the full picture.
Our approach to Autism therapy is rooted in compassionate, person-centered care. We believe that you are more than your symptoms, and that meaningful change begins by understanding your unique experiences, values, and strengths.
