Therapy for Individuals struggling with anxiety, trauma, life transitions, and substance use in Northern Colorado
Our team works with children(8+), teens, and adults who are navigating anxiety, big life transitions, trauma, relationship stress, body image concerns, and everything in between. Whether you’re deep in the middle of change, or just starting to feel something’s off, therapy is a space where you can slow down, explore what’s happening, and make a plan forward.
We don’t believe in one-size-fits-all therapy. Our approach blends process-based and relationship-centered models like Client Centered, Narrative Therapy, DBT, and attachment work. It’s less about being “fixed” and more about getting curious, building insight, and finding ways to feel more like you again.
Humans are built to heal, and that is what we can do together at Empowering Hope.
How Does Individual Therapy Work?
-
Therapy is a place to slow down and take a breath without feeling judged, rushed, or like you have to explain everything perfectly. It is also a place to be challenged, grow, and heal from a variety of concerns. Our team of therapist speclizes in individualized treatment for; anxiety, depression, family trauma, relationship distress, eating/body image concerns, substance use, and more.
Colorado has been ranked as one of the states with most need for mental health support consistently for years. With 26% of the population, about 1.5 million people, stating they have poor mental health(1). And Empowering Hope wants to support the state, and you with increasing your support systems and personal coping skills.

Everyone reacts to treatment in different ways. A great way to think about it is is like a triangle. Each point represents; emotions, thoughts, and behaviors, and the interior space represents you.
If it feels “easier” to access You through your emotions EFT, Process Focused, or Narrative could be good fits as they focus on processing emotions as they are, and through this supports with reflecting and reprocessing your thoughts to support behavior change.
If it feels “easier” to access You through your thoughts CBT, Internal Processing, or DBT could be options as they focus more on understanding your thoughts to understand the whys behind your emotions and/or behaviors.
If it feels “easier” to access You through your behaviors somatic, IFS, or DBT approaches could be useful as they help you be present in your body and listen. This helps you better access your emotions and thoughts that may feel far away right now.

Here at Empowering Hope we try to make the process of starting therapy as easy as possible.
First, use our Contact Us form, and our owner, Rachel, will reach out to you directly via email to get you set up with a therapist. If you know who you would like to work with you can go to their direct contact page
After this you will have a 15-30 minute consultation call with your potential provider. If you are comfortable with them, and feel they can support your needs you can get scheduled then and there. If not, take your time.
If you schedule a session you will be asked to fill out paperwork before you begin. Your therapist will provide information and details on this process.
-
This is something that is personal to everyone. Your goals will be determined personally between you and your therapist.
Whether you are looking to increase your confidence, find better coping skills, or better communicate with others you and your therapist will have conversations throughout sessions about progress, and it will ultimately be your decision when you feel ready.
We are not here to push you, or have a set timeline. We are here simply to help guide, challenge, and support you through this learning process.
