Your Therapy Journey Starts Here
Empowering individuals, couples, and families in Colorado
Our Story
Empowering Hope was created out of a passion for quality, compassionate mental health care by our founder, Rachel Berglund. After years in the field Rachel noticed a gap in care for individuals, couples, and families seeking support outside of community mental health and agencies that supports people where they are at. Both financially and mentally. She wanted to create a space for people to feel seen and heard by experts who do not treat them as a burden, or just a number on their caseload. Because they can!
That was when Empowering Hope was born.
Since its creation in 2020 we have been providing expert care to individuals, couples, and families in Fort Collins for counseling and virtual counseling throughout Colorado.
Whether this is your first time reaching out for therapy, or you're just looking for a new therapist who gets it, you are in the right place.
We can help.
Services
Self esteem and self compassion are highly connected to our mental well-being(4). So why can it be so hard to find?
Putting ourselves down, thinking “if we could just be like…”, or thinking we deserve to be treated poorly all connect to increased anxiety, depression, and generally low life satisfaction.
Our team uses evidenced based treatments, such as EFT, motivational interview, and somatic skills to help you understand who you are. Not what others think about you, and build your trust with yourself and your strengths back up.
Colorado has been ranked as one of the states with most need for mental health support consistently for years. With 26% of the population, about 1.5 million people, stating they have poor mental health(1).
We want to help break that cycle through evidenced based care by our licensed therapists who work from a varitety of models to support you with being able to identify how anxiety impacts you, how this impacts your ability to connect with yourself and others, and live a life that feels more peaceful overall.
Almost 45% of young adults state that previous negative relationship experiences are the reason they are not dating, or have negative views of relationships in general(2).
We want you to be able to growth and flourish in your relationship with your partner(s). Through evidenced based treatments, such as Gottman and EFT, our licensed therapists can support you in improving communication, connecting more deeply, and understanding what makes your relationship run more smoothly.
70% of the US population, that’s ~223 million people, have experienced a traumatic event in their life (3). Trauma can be experienced in a variety of ways from panic attacks, sensitivity to noise, or difficulty trusting others.
We want you to be able to experience life at its fullest by supporting you with evidenced based treatments, such as IFS informed, Brainspotting, and somatic approaches. These will support you in decreasing stress responses, identifying what triggers you, and how to learn to trust yourself and others again.

Why should I try therapy?
That's a good question. Many of us struggle with the idea of asking for help, especially when we are facing emotional challenges or feeling overwhelmed. Maybe you've been told to "buck up," to "not be so emotional," or perhaps you simply haven't had a safe space where your thoughts, feelings, and experiences could be expressed without judgment.
Therapy can provide that space.
Seeking support is more common than many people realize. Millions of individuals have worked with a therapist at some point in their lives, often during periods of stress, change, loss, uncertainty, or personal growth. Reaching out for support doesn't mean something is wrong with you—it means you're investing in your well-being and creating space to better understand yourself.
Our team believes that each person already possesses strengths, resilience, and the capacity for growth. Therapy is not about telling you how to live your life or who you should become. Instead, it is an opportunity to explore your experiences, better understand yourself, and identify meaningful ways to move toward the life you want to create.
Whether you're looking to improve self-care, navigate a difficult life transition, strengthen relationships, challenge unhelpful patterns, build confidence, or find new ways to cope with stress and difficult experiences, therapy can offer support along the way. Our team is committed to providing a compassionate, collaborative environment where you can feel heard, understood, and empowered as you work toward your goals.
