Major Depression Disorder

Depression can affect more than your mood. It shows up as low energy, loss of motivation, feelings of hopelessness, difficulty connecting with others, changes in sleep and/or appetite, or a sense that life has become smaller and less fulfilling.

For many people, depression creates distance from the activities, relationships, and values that once brought meaning and purpose.

Rather than focusing on helping you "just be happy" your therapist will work alongside you. Understanding that these thoughts/feelings are not just due to an event or relationship shift. You have been living with them, and their cycles, for most, if not all of your life.

Together with one of our caring therapist, Rachel, Kady, or Jessica, who all work with depression you will explore patterns that are contributing to your depression while identifying opportunities to reconnect with relationships, interests, goals, and environment. Therapy may include developing coping strategies, improving self-compassion, strengthening emotional awareness, and creating small, sustainable changes that support long-term well-being.

Seasonal Depression (SAD)

Sometimes depression only likes to show up when the weather is dreary, changing, or reminds us of a sad time in our life. You don’t quite feel like yourself, no amount of reassurance will help, you just feel stuck.

Instead of just telling you to ride the wave until the season is over your therapist will work alongside you. Understanding that even though these thoughts and feelings only come up once or twice a year they still have a major impact on your personal, social, and professional life.

Together with one of our caring therapist, Rachel, Kady, or Jessica, who all work with depression you will explore patterns that are contributing to your depression while identifying opportunities to reconnect with relationships, interests, goals, and environment. Therapy may include understanding your seasonal cycle, making a proactive plan, and identifying skills to better support yourself in the future.
