Meet Jessica

Hello! I’m Jessica Mehring and I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate at Empowering Hope. I graduated from Adams State University with my master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.

I believe therapy should feel like a space where you can show up exactly as you are—without judgment, pressure, or the need to have everything figured out. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, relationship challenges, burnout, or life transitions, I’m here to support you in making sense of your experiences and finding a path forward that feels meaningful to you.

My approach to therapy is collaborative and grounded in both compassion and curiosity. You are the expert on your own life, and my role is to walk alongside you—offering insight, tools, and guidance while honoring your pace and your goals. Together, we’ll explore patterns that may be keeping you stuck, deepening your understanding of yourself, and building toward greater clarity, confidence, and connection.

I use a blend of evidence-based approaches tailored to your needs. This includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help you understand how your thoughts influence your emotions and behaviors, Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT) to explore and process emotional experiences, and the Gottman Method for couples looking to strengthen communication, rebuild trust, and navigate conflict more effectively. I also incorporate mindfulness practices to help you stay grounded, reduce anxiety, and feel more present in your daily life.

I have experience working with adults and couples facing a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, burnout, anger, addiction, and relationship issues. I also support individuals navigating major life transitions and relational trauma.

Starting therapy can feel like a big step, and you don’t have to do it alone. My goal is to create a space where you feel supported, understood, and empowered to move toward the life and relationships you want.
