Meet Rachel

Hello! My name is Rachel Berglund, and I am the founder, supersivor, and lead therapist at Empowering Hope, LLC. I graduated from UNC in 2020 with my masters in Marriage, Family, Couple therapy. I also have the Level 1 Gottman training and introductory Family-Based Therapy(FBT) training. My goal is always to help you reach your full potential, whatever that may look like. I am here to walk this journey with you.

Therapy doesn’t have to feel stiff or serious all the time. I show up as a real person in the room—humor included—because when we’re able to be human together, healing actually feels possible.

I work with individuals (8+) and couples who are navigating anxiety, life transitions, relationship stress, or body image concerns. If you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected (from yourself or someone else), we’ll unpack it together—gently, honestly, and without judgment.

My approach is process-based and relational, blending Narrative Therapy, DBT, and attachment work. That means we’ll explore the stories and patterns that shape your life, while also building new tools and deeper self-awareness. I believe therapy is less about "fixing" you and more about helping you feel more like you. We’ll slow down and get curious—not just about what’s hard, but about what matters to you and where you want to go.

For couples, we’ll focus on improving communication, understanding emotional needs, and navigating the space between independence and connection. Whether you’re feeling stuck in cycles of conflict, drifting apart, or just want to reconnect, therapy can offer the space to build clarity and closeness—without either of you feeling blamed or put on the spot.

For individuals, our work might include making sense of anxiety, reshaping your relationship with food or your body, or finding steadiness in a big life transition. You don’t have to have the "right words" or a clear map—just a willingness to show up. We’ll move at your pace, and we’ll laugh when we can. We share all built to heal and grow.

Whether you're coming in with years of therapy behind you or you're new and a little nervous (totally normal), my goal is simple: to help you feel safe, supported, and like you don’t have to “perform” in therapy. We can laugh, cry, cuss, or all three—because you deserve a space that feels like yours.
