Substance Use Counseling
Supporting recovery in Fort Collins and virtually throughout Colorado
Relationship to Self & Addiction
At Empowering Hope, we provide outpatient substance use counseling through a compassionate, person-centered approach that recognizes the complexity of addiction and recovery. We understand that substance use often develops within a larger context of stress, trauma, emotional pain, relationships, life experiences, and coping patterns. Rather than defining individuals by their substance use, we seek to understand the unique experiences, strengths, and goals that each person brings to therapy.
Our role is to provide a supportive, nonjudgmental space where you can explore your relationship with substances, increase self-awareness, develop healthier coping strategies, and work toward goals that align with your values.
We recognize that recovery looks different for everyone. While we do not provide inpatient treatment services or operate within Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) programs, we respect that individuals may choose a variety of recovery paths and support systems. Our focus is on helping clients create sustainable changes that support their long-term well-being and quality of life.
We are also proud to have a therapist on our team who is actively working toward their Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC) training with a specialization in substance use and recovery treatment. Jessica works with both individuals and couples impacted by substance use, helping you navigate challenges related to communication, trust, boundaries, recovery, and relationship healing.
Relationships & Addiction
Struggles with substance use can be a journey not only for yourself, but for your relationships with others. Addiction can impact your communication, connection, and views on relationships to the point that you, and your loved ones, don’t know what to do.
We support you in growing, learning, and improving your communication, trust, and ability to hold space for each other again through a trauma, relational approach.
Jessica is working toward their Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC) training with a specialization in substance use and recovery treatment. Not only is she knowledgeable in recovery, but she has also done training in Gottman and EFT to support you more effectively in understanding your relationship with your partner and/or friends, and to rebuild your relationship.
Please note that generally it is recommended for couples and/or friend repair happens after any in patient or IOP programs, not during. It is also required to be sober during any individual or family sessions.
